- Inches to PointsDesktop publishing locked the point at 1/72 of an international inch. 1 in = 72 pt. Letter paper 8.5 in is 612 pt. This is not 96 CSS px per inch and not a 300 DPI raster. For px, pick a DPI on the points-to-pixels page.
